Infrastructure and Humanitarian Authorities Align Efforts for Recovery in West Kordofan

Al-obeid: The Director-General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development and Acting Minister in West Kordofan State, Engineer Khalid Jabrallah Khamsin, announced a comprehensive roadmap for post-liberation reconstruction and development.

According to Sudan News Agency, Khamsin made the announcement following a meeting in Al-Obeid with the State Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid, Al-Manna Dafallah Mohamed Jubara. During the meeting, both sides agreed on high-level coordination to implement priority service projects. The initial phase will focus on rehabilitating infrastructure and water systems damaged by systematic sabotage, with the ministry ready to commence work once security stabilizes.

Commissioner Jubara stated that the partnership aims to accelerate humanitarian and development responses in the post-war phase. The meeting reviewed urgent projects of direct importance to citizens. He also issued an urgent appeal to national and international organizations for immediate humanitarian intervention, highlighting that the number of displaced persons (IDPs) in Al-Obeid has exceeded 200,000. This has overwhelmed local capacity and requires swift action to meet basic needs amid violations by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
