Port sudan: The Minister of Industry and Trade, Mahasin Ali Yaqoub, has announced plans to organize a forum for Sudanese and Turkish businessmen in Al-Jazirah State, aiming to bolster sustainable partnerships in the industry and trade sectors between the two nations. This initiative underscores the robust and enduring relationship between Sudan and Turkey.
According to Sudan News Agency, Minister Yaqoub met with Turkish Ambassador Fatih Yildiz in Port Sudan to discuss enhancing economic cooperation and boosting Turkish investments, particularly in Sudan's industrial sector. She highlighted that the upcoming forum would significantly advance Sudanese industry, notably in agricultural manufacturing, where Sudan enjoys a competitive edge.
Minister Yaqoub emphasized the ministry's strategy to leverage Turkey's substantial industrial capabilities to implement reconstruction programs in the industrial sector. This includes efforts to promote industry for export through the provision of production lines, cutting-edge technologies, training initiatives, efficiency improvements, and financial support for small and medium enterprises.
Ambassador Yildiz reiterated Turkey's commitment to increasing its investments in Sudan and aiding in the country's reconstruction efforts post-conflict. He noted the positive impact of resuming the Turkish commercial attach©'s work, opening the Turkish Agricultural Bank, and the return of Turkish Airlines to Sudan. These steps align with Turkey's strategy to deepen cooperation with Sudan.
Plans are also underway for a Turkish industrial products exhibition in Sudan, and both countries agreed to facilitate visits by Sudanese state governors to Turkey. This initiative aims to share Turkey's industrial expertise, especially in small industries. Additionally, a working group will be formed to coordinate the forthcoming forum and exhibition.
