El-fashir: With profound sorrow and grief, the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State, Al-Hafiz Bakhit Mohamed, and members of his government mourned the Secretary-General of the State Government, Mohamedai Abdallah Adam Khatir, and his wife, who were martyred on Saturday evening after their home was targeted by a strategic drone missile launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in El-Fashir.
According to Sudan News Agency, the mourn statement expressed that this criminal act is part of the militia’s ongoing atrocities that indiscriminately target everything in the city without mercy or compassion. The late official was recognized as a distinguished expert in the administrative service, having served as an administrative officer across all the state’s localities. His career included roles such as Executive Director in the localities of El-Fashir, Um Kadada, Al-La’ait, Sarf Omra, Al-Tina, Kabkabiya, Al-Sireif, Kutum, Tawila, and Mellit.
The statement further explained that Khatir held senior administrative posts, including Secretary of the Local Government Bureau in North Darfur State, and served in several other states of Sudan. Known for his dedication, he devoted all his time and effort to public service, remaining steadfast in El-Fashir despite the difficult circumstances until his martyrdom, working with sincerity and selflessness to serve the people of El-Fashir who continue to suffer under the siege.
The statement sorrowfully noted that today, Mohamedai joins hundreds of martyrs from El-Fashir who preceded him on their journey to the hereafter. Only recently, mourners buried the victims of a terrorist attack carried out by the RSF militia at Al-Safia neighborhood mosque in El-Fashir during dawn prayers on Friday, in which 75 worshippers were martyred and 10 others seriously wounded. The statement expressed that today, he has been chosen by Allah Almighty to join them, and emphasized that the dawn of victory is undoubtedly approaching, by the will of Allah.
The statement concluded by praying to Allah Almighty to endow him and his wife paradise, and extended deepest condolences to their bereaved family, reaffirming the sentiment that to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
