During an event held by political forces in Port Sudan to welcome his return, Imam Ahmed Al-Mahdi expressed his unwavering support for the Sudanese Armed Forces in their mission to defend the state and protect its sovereignty.
According to Sudan News Agency, Imam Ahmed Al-Mahdi stated that the purpose of his return was to express gratitude to the forces for their significant victories, which have led to the liberation of strategic locations. He expressed optimism about completing the process of building, reconstruction, and unifying the country and its populace.
Imam Al-Mahdi also called on the armed forces to persist in their "jihad and struggle" to rid the nation of treason and rebellion.
