Madani: The Ministry of Health and the Gezira Scheme administration signed an agreement Monday at the Guest House in Madani to combat disease vectors and eradicate malaria in the state. The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim and the Wali of Al-Gezira State, who emphasized that the agreement would bolster the state government's initiatives to eliminate disease vectors.
According to Sudan News Agency, Health Minister Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim stated that the agreement aligns with the Prime Minister's directives aimed at achieving 'a malaria-free Sudan.' He highlighted that the agreement would lead to the resumption of residual spraying campaigns, underscoring the social responsibility of the Gezira Scheme. This initiative marks the Gezira Scheme's renewed active role in the national economy.
