Khartoum: The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation has embarked on plans to implement digital transformation throughout the ministry and its affiliated units. This initiative aligns with the Government of Hope's focus on digitalization.According to Sudan News Agency, Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Professor Ismat Gurashi led a meeting attended by key figures, including Dr. Mohamed Saad Bayoumi, Engineer Anas Malik, Dr. Jawahir Osman, and Majda Ahmed. The minister emphasized that digital transformation is crucial for meeting current demands, highlighting the need to eliminate digital illiteracy among employees and farmers to drive national progress.In addition to digital initiatives, the ministry is implementing measures to improve employee conditions, aligning with efforts to enhance the agricultural sector. This includes preparations for the 2026-2027 summer agricultural season.Dr. Fatima Mohamed Ahmed Rahma, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry, chaired the Wage Disparities Removal Committe e, stressing the importance of involving affiliated bodies in wage adjustments. The committee is tasked with proposing wage parity between agricultural and irrigation sector employees.The committee aims to expedite its work and provide recommendations to alleviate employee living burdens and improve the ministry's working environment. Professor Ismat Gurashi had previously established the committee to ensure fair and equitable service conditions for ministry employees.This initiative is part of a broader state strategy to boost agricultural production and enhance the working environment, recognizing agriculture as a vital component of the national economy.
