Khartoum: The Health Minister’s Board, chaired by the Undersecretary, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, convened at the Ministry’s headquarters on Nile Street in Khartoum on Sunday. The meeting brought together directors of ministerial units and general Directorates to discuss urgent agenda items, primarily focusing on analyzing the effects of the war and developing a health roadmap for rehabilitation and reconstruction.
According to Sudan News Agency, the board reached an agreement to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the health system. This effort, led by the Ministry of Health with the participation of partners, aims to establish scientific and methodological mechanisms that will serve as a reference for future studies or projects. The assessment is intended to unify and analyze health data and reports, measuring the war’s impact on the health system. This initiative will aid in the development of a strategy for the fair and effective distribution of services and infrastructure while providing evidence-based recommendations to support recovery and reform efforts.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of employing a multi-level methodology that considers the security disparities among Sudan’s states.
