Kosti: The Wali (governor) of White Nile State, Lt. Gen. Gamar Al-Din Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla, discussed with the General Administration of Border Crossings and Outlets’ Delegation the technical and administrative arrangements for establishing border trade outlets in White Nile State, with the aim of resuming trade with South Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Wali of White Nile State stated, following a joint meeting with the Border Crossings Delegation, that establishing trade outlets with South Sudan aims to maximize mutual benefits and combat cross-border smuggling. He announced the state government’s readiness to provide all facilities that contribute to the resumption of border trade.
Lt. Gen. Fadl Al-Mawla mentioned that discussions had been held with the concerned bodies on the establishment of a trade outlet in the Joda area of Al-Jabalain Locality. He added that the border crossings delegation will visit the proposed area on Sunday to assess the modalities of establishing the outlet.

Yassir Mohamed Osman, Director of the General Administration of Border Crossings and Outlets at the General Secretariat of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), affirmed that the visit was aimed at assessing a number of border crossings in the state and checking the readiness of competent parties. He stressed that the coming period will witness strengthening the role of the border crossings in the state, within the framework of the state’s plan aimed at enhancing regional cooperation and revitalizing trade and economic movement through the border crossings.
