Health Minister and Khartoum Governor Address Restoration of State Health Services

Khartoum: Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim and Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza convened on Sunday to deliberate on the reconstruction of infrastructure and the comprehensive restoration of medical services across the state.

According to Sudan News Agency, Governor Hamza announced the successful resumption of kidney dialysis services at Ahmed Gasim Hospital and most of Khartoum's referral hospitals. He also noted the completed rehabilitation and reopening of the Jaber Abu El-Izz Referral Pediatric Diabetes Hospital and the structural upgrades at Ibrahim Malik Hospital. Both officials stressed the importance of activating national and state health insurance schemes to reduce financial pressures on patients.

Governor Hamza expressed gratitude to the Minister for his ongoing field engagement and the continuous supply of essential medicines and medical supplies since the war outbreak. He reiterated Khartoum State's dedication to partnering with the Ministry of Health to rehabilitate damaged facilities, enhance healthcare infrastructure, and establish a sustainable treatment environment.
