Port sudan: The Head of the Peoples' League Organization, Maj. Gen. Omer Nimir, stated that Sudanese-Turkish relations are witnessing notable development following the visit of the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) to Turkey. This visit reflects a shared political will and is deepening bilateral ties. He highlighted Turkey's ongoing political, humanitarian, and relief support, as well as its backing of Sudan in international forums.
According to Sudan News Agency, speaking at a press conference in Port Sudan, Nimir announced a seminar next Sunday to discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries. This partnership is rooted in strong cultural, social, and economic ties. The event will be attended by diplomats and experts, including the Sudanese Ambassador to Turkey, Ambassador Nadir Yousuf, and the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Mr. Fatih Yildiz, and will explore multiple axes of cooperation.
Nimir emphasized the unity of the Sudanese people and their support for the Armed Forces and state institutions as key to defending national sovereignty. He praised the Armed Forces, supporting forces, and organizations for safeguarding the homeland and commended the media for its role in the Battle of Dignity.
He welcomed recent measures to secure the capital and facilitate citizens' return to their homes, calling them timely and necessary. Nimir reaffirmed Sudan's commitment to building strategic relations with friendly countries, notably Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, and stressed the importance of public and media diplomacy in fostering regional peace and stability.
