Governor of Gedaref Discusses Water Supply Issues with Hawata Water Authority

Gedaref: The Governor of Gedaref, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Hassan Ahmed, engaged in discussions with the Director of the Hawata Water Authority, Engineer Mukhtar Mohamed Babiker, regarding the current status of the water supply to the state’s project. This meeting included several board members from the authority and the director of the state water authority, focusing on the project’s water supply challenges and potential solutions.

According to Sudan News Agency, the discussions centered on increasing water productivity by expanding and maintaining existing water sources. The meeting addressed the issues the project faces, with solutions proposed to restore its functionality. These include rehabilitating other components of the project to accommodate the growing population and increased water usage in the areas served.

The governor expressed the government’s commitment to support the project by providing three new pumps to boost water production. Emphasizing the importance of understanding the auth
ority’s revenue, the governor stressed using these funds to enhance and sustain the water supply for the communities benefiting from the project.
