Blue nile: The Governor of the Blue Nile Region, General Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, conducted an inspection of the regional headquarters of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited. He was accompanied by Regional Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Abbas Abdullah Kara and the Governor's Advisor for Mining Omar Al-Sheimi Al-Faki.
According to Sudan News Agency, the delegation was warmly received by the Company's Director, Dr. Mohamed Al-Rahima. Following the inspection, Dr. Al-Rahima joined Governor Al-Omda Badi in a meeting to review the mining sector's performance in 2025 and to discuss strategic plans for 2026. During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the importance of increasing production, citing improved security across the region as a key factor. He also highlighted the need to allocate community responsibility funds towards essential services.
Minister Kara reiterated the government's support for mining operations, revealing plans to commence work with concession companies in ten newly identified blocks. Additionally, he extended an invitation to investors to explore opportunities in the gold, chromium, and other mining sectors.
