Khartoum: The Federation of Industrial Chambers welcomed the 'Government of Hope's' orientation toward directing national resources and capital to work and production in productive, agricultural, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Secretary-General of the Federation, Abbas Ali Al-Sayyid, expressed confidence that the government's decisions to increase production and enhance the contribution of manufacturing industries to exports will yield results in a short time. He emphasized that Sudan, with its vast resources, should not remain a consumption-driven economy, as relying on customs revenues from imports positions a country as weak and unable to provide adequate services to its citizens.
Al-Sayyid urged the private sector, particularly import companies, to transition toward productive sectors like agriculture, livestock, manufacturing, and extractive industries in response to the national call. He noted that Sudan possesses a substantial industrial base and significant expertise, which can be revived and developed through the will of the Sudanese private sector, supported by sound, practical, and realistic state policies and implementable plans.
