Khartoum: The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sidahmed, convened a meeting with Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin, Director-General and Acting Minister of the Ministry of Health and Social Development in Al-Gadarif State. This meeting, held in Khartoum, included the participation of various ministry officials.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussion centered on critical health issues, such as environmental sanitation and controlling disease vectors linked to dengue fever and malaria. The agenda also covered emergency preparedness and epidemic response. Both parties highlighted the importance of increasing community awareness and promoting public involvement in vector-control campaigns and biweekly water-container drying initiatives.
Dr. Sidahmed emphasized the ongoing federal support for Al-Gadarif State’s health sector. This includes addressing service gaps and localizing treatment within the state. He pointed out the continued backing for vector-control activities and the completion of significant health projects, notably the oncology center. Dr. Sidahmed also called for promoting these health initiatives to partners and donor countries. He stressed the necessity of providing accessible diagnostic and therapeutic services to deliver quality healthcare to the citizens.
