Brussels: On the sidelines of the Customs Cooperation Council meetings in Brussels, the Director General of Customs Forces, Lt. Gen. (Police) Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and Yemen. This engagement was part of his participation in the 145th and 146th sessions of the Council at the World Customs Organization headquarters.
According to Sudan News Agency, these meetings involved discussions with the Director Generals of Saudi, Algerian, and Yemeni Customs. The focus was on enhancing joint customs cooperation, including coordination in information exchange, expertise sharing, training, combating smuggling, and simplifying customs procedures. Lt. Gen. Ibrahim emphasized the importance of these meetings in bolstering integration and cooperation among sister customs administrations, highlighting the need for increased openness and joint efforts in addressing customs and security challenges.
Lt. Gen. Ibrahim also noted Sudanese Customs’ commitment to building strategic partnerships through expertise exchange and performance development, aligning with global customs advancements. The Customs Forces media highlighted that these meetings signify Sudanese Customs’ active role in international forums, aiming to extend cooperation and experience sharing with international counterparts to support national objectives and enhance regional and international customs integration.
