Council of Ministers Reviews Fuel and Electricity Supply Situation

Khartoum: The Cabinet, during its meeting on Friday chaired by Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris, reviewed the current situation regarding fuel and electricity supply.

According to Sudan News Agency, Minister of Energy Engineer Al-Mu'tassim Ibrahim Ahmed explained that a number of transformers with appropriate capacity have been received. He added that street lighting in Obaid Khatim, Airport Road, Sixty Street, and Al-Jumhuriya Street in central Khartoum will be restored soon in coordination with the Khartoum State Government.

He further mentioned that lighting works in Shambat, Al-Gireif areas, and Khartoum 2 will also be completed in the near future. The Minister indicated that fuel supplies are sufficient until the end of April, noting that agreements have been reached with private sector companies to ensure continued fuel provision. He also confirmed the stability of electricity generation.
