Khartoum: The Council of Ministers, during its meeting on Friday afternoon chaired by Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris, approved the 2025 performance report of Khartoum State and its plan for 2026.
According to Sudan News Agency, Wali of Khartoum State Ahmed Othman Hamza explained that the state's plan includes the Khartoum State Reconstruction and Recovery Strategy for the period 2026-2036. The strategy aims to address the challenges faced by the state and outline a comprehensive approach for the upcoming decade.
The Cabinet commended the efforts of the Higher Committee for Preparing a Suitable Environment for the Return of Citizens to Khartoum State, chaired by Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jabir. This committee is focused on restoring normal life in the state, which has been affected by ongoing conflicts.
The Council also praised the performance of the Khartoum State Government in maintaining essential services despite the conditions of war. The government's continued efforts in reconstruction and recovery were acknowledged, and the Council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Khartoum State Government. This includes assisting in restoring the resources the state has lost, which is crucial for its recovery and future development.
