Al-damazin: Governor of the Blue Nile Region and Chairman of the Regional Security Committee, Lieutenant General Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, received the Governor of the Darfur Region, Minnawi, on Sunday at the entrance to Al-Damazin city. The event was attended by members of the regional government, security committee, regular forces, and the Secretary-General of the Government. Minnawi, who is also the Chairman of the Sudan Liberation Movement and supervisor of the Joint Force, was accompanied by several Joint Force commanders.
According to Sudan News Agency, following the reception, Minnawi and his delegation, along with the regional governor, visited the command headquarters of the Fourth Infantry Division. During this visit, Minnawi assessed the security situation, recent military advancements, and the ongoing efforts to eliminate the rebel Al-Dagalo militia from the region.
Minnawi remarked that his visit was part of broader tours intended to bolster the national cause amid external threats aimed at undermining Sudan's unity through the influx of weapons and mercenaries from neighboring territories. He highlighted Sudan's longstanding support for neighboring countries based on good neighborliness and humanitarian assistance. However, he expressed concern over certain neighboring countries allowing their territories to be used for infiltrating mercenaries and armed groups that destabilize Sudan and terrorize its civilians.
He further declared that Al-Kormuk would soon be liberated and emphasized that Sudan's borders would be secured by its youth, men, and women. Governor Ahmed Al-Omda Badi lauded Minnawi's backing of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Joint Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the Battle of Dignity. He reiterated the importance of the Juba Peace Agreement, particularly in safeguarding national unity and establishing a professional national army.
Major General Ismail Al-Tayib Hussein, Commander of the Fourth Infantry Division, also praised the Joint Forces for their sacrifices in the mission to liberate Darfur and expel the rebel militia from the region.
