Doha: Al Rayyan returned to the top of the Qatar Basketball League standings after a commanding 101-80 victory over Al Khor at Al Rayyan Hall in the second phase of the competition.
According to Qatar News Agency, the win lifted Al Rayyan to 23 points, one point clear of second-placed Al Arabi, while Al Khor remained bottom of the table with 13 points. Al Rayyan dominated most of the game, winning three of the four quarters.
Despite the loss, Al Khor's Jesse Jones was the game's top scorer with 42 points. Al Rayyan's standout performer was Bobo Magassa, who scored 23 points.
In another match, Al Sadd edged past hosts Al Wakrah 97-94 in a closely contested encounter. Stephen Bernard Leonard led Al Sadd with 36 points, while Wakrah's Wesley Marc Alcegaire scored 24.
Al Sadd moved up to third place with 20 points, level with Al Ahli, while Al Wakrah sit fifth on 18 points. The league continues on Thursday with Al Gharafa facing Qatar SC, followed by Al Arabi against Al Ahli.
