Acting Minister of Education in Gedaref Prioritizes Teacher Training and School Environment

Gedaref: The Acting Minister of Education and Guidance in Gedaref State, Professor Al-Fateh Al-Safi Hamza, convened a meeting with directors of education from various localities at the training center to assess the progress of the reading and writing program. This program has been implemented since the schools reopened to prepare students for the alternative primary certificate exam scheduled for 2025.

According to Sudan News Agency, Professor Al-Fateh emphasized the importance of training teachers across all subjects and highlighted the need to clear the state’s schools of displaced persons to foster a conducive academic environment. He also addressed the teacher shortage in the state, commending Basanda locality for their initiative in hiring teachers using local funds.

Mr. Mohammed Adam Abdullah, Director General of Basic Education at the Ministry, expressed gratitude to the directors of education, urging them to implement the forum’s outcomes and recommendations to enhance the Ministry’s educational and pedagogical processes.

Professor Babiker Mohamed Ali Bashrawi, Director General of Examinations, Measurement and Evaluation, announced that the alternative primary certificate examination will take place on July 1, 2025, with nearly eight thousand students participating. Bashrawi thanked the Ministries of Finance and Education for securing necessary budgets to conduct the examinations amid challenging circumstances, noting that exam control and correction will occur in the municipality of Gedaref.

The meeting was attended by key figures, including the Director General of the Training and Capacity Building Department, the Director of the Administrative Development and Quality Department, the Director of the Primary Stage Department, and other educational leaders, reflecting the collaborative effort to improve education in Gedaref.
