Kosti: The White Nile State Government has reached an agreement with the Sudan Pile Company for Roads to maintain and rehabilitate several internal roads in Kosti and Rabak, and to construct new roads. This agreement was established during a joint meeting held by the Wali (governor) of White Nile State, Lt. Gen. Qamar El-Din Mohamed Fadl El-Mawla, with representatives from Sudan Pile Company for Roads and Bridges at the ministry’s headquarters in Kosti.
According to Sudan News Agency, the joint meeting focused on the vision for maintaining internal roads in the state and the construction of new roads. A representative from the company provided a detailed overview of the projects already implemented by Sudan Pile Company, as well as the challenges faced in executing several contracts.
The Minister of Finance in the White Nile State expressed her commitment to securing the necessary funding to complete the maintenance of internal roads and initiate the construction of new ones across all localities. She also highlighted plans to implement a number of agricultural roads to facilitate access to production areas.
Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Infrastructure and Urban Development, Engineer Youssef Ahmed Fadl Al-Mawla, announced that the meeting led to an agreement to implement and pave key roads, including the Cinema-Al-Souq Al-Shaabi-Al-Zariba Road in Kosti, the Ring Road in Rabak City from Al-Salam Roundabout through the Rabak Cement Factory, and the Kasha Road linking the Khartoum National Road. He confirmed that technical and financial studies for these projects are ready, and work will commence upon signing the agreements. Sudan Pile has expressed readiness to begin implementation.
To address outstanding contracts with the company, a committee will be formed to review these contracts and submit recommendations to the Wali for consideration.
