Port sudan: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem, discussed at his office in Port Sudan with the Head of the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation (SBEF) and Chairman of the Chamber of Industry, Muawia Mohamed Ahmed Al-Bereir, ways to accelerate the restoration of electricity to industrial zones and the rehabilitation of distribution stations and transformers in the industrial sector, which were devastated by the war.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy affirmed the ministry’s commitment to achieving equitable electricity distribution to industrial areas, especially in the areas of Soba, Al-Bagair, and Kilo 10, as part of the reconstruction efforts in Khartoum State. He pointed to full coordination with the Businessmen and Employers Federation with the aim of restoring industry to its former glory and even pushing it towards further development as a vital sector.
For his part, Al-Bereir explained that the Businessmen and Employers Federation had requested the ministry, as part of the reconstruction plan, to speed up the supply of electricity to industrial zones, given the job opportunities they provide and their contribution to stability. He emphasized that Khartoum remains the country’s industrial center, asserting the importance of distributing industries among the states through the establishment of new industrial zones.
He added that a number of businessmen have already continued their activities in states such as Al-Gadarif, River Nile, and Al-Gezira.
