Atbara: The Wali of Nile River State, Dr. Mohamed El-Badawi Abdel-Majid Abuqroun, underscored the importance of establishing a regional center for the National Radio and Television Corporation in Atbara. The statement came during the laying of the foundation stone for the corporation's second regional center in Atbara city by Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities, and Tourism Khalid Al-Eisir. The Wali noted that the inauguration aligns with the state's ongoing developmental progress. The ceremony was attended by his deputy, State Minister of Culture, Information, and Communications Mustafa Mohamed Othman Al-Sharif, Artillery Corps Commander in Atbara Brigadier General Mohamed Al-Amin, and directors of the state's media institutions.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Abuqroun affirmed the state's readiness to equip the center with modern technology and provide advanced training for its staff, describing the project as a major landmark that will serve as a 'beacon' across Sudan. He added, 'We desire to turn the page with a developed system in culture and information that meets regional and global standards.' He also praised Minister Al-Eisir for visiting the state and reviewing its media and cultural initiatives.
Nile River State Minister Al-Sharif expressed hope that the new center would become a hub for advanced media work, serving both the state and the country. He emphasized efforts to train and develop local media cadres to advance professional media work in Nile River State. He also thanked the Wali for his continued support to media institutions, noting that Minister Al-Eisir's visit and inspection of media operations would open 'future horizons in the fields of culture and information' in the state.
