Khartoum: A United Nations delegation conducted a field visit to the Circular Medicine Fund’s warehouse, which was completely destroyed by rebel militias. This visit is part of the UN efforts to assess the extent of the losses and explore ways to rehabilitate vital health facilities in the country.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Director General of the Circular Medicine Fund, Dr. Hafiz Ahmed Mohamed Babiker, stated that the organization’s delegation observed the severe damage to the warehouse as a result of the recent attacks. He emphasized that the organization has expressed its full commitment to supporting the rebuilding process and providing it with the necessary capabilities to ensure its resumption of operations as soon as possible.
Dr. Babiker added that the resumption of the circular medicine warehouse represents a pivotal step in restoring the pharmaceutical supply chain in the state, particularly that the warehouse is a major center for supplying pharmacies with life-saving medical supplies a
nd medicines.
He stressed that coordination with international agencies is proceeding at an accelerated pace, stressing the importance of the international community’s support for the rehabilitation of health infrastructure in affected areas.
