Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived in Doha to offer condolences on the death of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. His visit underscores the deep ties between Sudan and Qatar.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Burhan extended his sympathies to Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the ruling family at Lusail Palace. He conveyed the condolences of the Sudanese leadership and citizens, expressing solidarity with Qatar during this period of mourning.
Al-Burhan acknowledged the late Emir's contributions to Qatar's development and prosperity. He highlighted Sheikh Hamad's support for Sudan, noting his efforts to foster bilateral relations and his commitment to humanitarian and peace initiatives.
Al-Burhan emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen the relationship between Sudan and Qatar under the leadership of Emir Sheikh Tamim. He reflected on the historical connections between the two nations.
Sheikh Tamim appreciated Al-Burhan's visit, reinforcing the strong ties between the countries and expressing a desire for enhanced cooperation. Al-Burhan was joined by other Sudanese officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Mohieddin Salem, Finance Minister Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, and General Intelligence Service Director General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
