Khartoum: The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has received a written message from Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa focusing on the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two nations to benefit their respective populations.
According to Sudan News Agency, the message was relayed during a meeting at the TSC President's office with Zimbabwe's Ambassador to Sudan, Emmanuel Gumbo. In a press statement, Ambassador Gumbo expressed his satisfaction with the Sudanese government's return to Khartoum, acknowledging it as the seat of authority. He appreciated the efforts of the Sudanese Armed Forces and other regular forces in facilitating this return.
Ambassador Gumbo revealed that the discussions with the TSC President covered the longstanding bilateral relations between Sudan and Zimbabwe, exploring avenues for further development. He emphasized the strong historical ties between the two countries.
He also conveyed Zimbabwe's solidarity with Sudan during this critical period, highlighting that both governments are working to lift visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders.
Furthermore, Ambassador Gumbo pointed out the potential for beneficial exchanges between Sudan and Zimbabwe in various sectors, mentioning that Zimbabwe could export tea and coffee to Sudan. In return, Sudan's economic resources could be imported by Zimbabwe to bolster economic cooperation between the two nations.
