Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, received the delegation of the Samaritan’s Purse from the United States, led by Rev. William Franklin Graham III. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Ali Youssef, and the Head of the Joint National Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies, Lt. Gen. Al-Sadig Ismail Mahmoud.
According to Sudan News Agency, the delegation expressed gratitude to the TSC President and the Government of Sudan for the coordination and facilities provided to deliver humanitarian aid in South Kordofan. General Al-Burhan acknowledged the efforts of the Samaritan’s Purse, highlighting their work in establishing hospitals in Al-Gadarif and Hamashkoreib.
The Head of the Joint National Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies stated that the meeting aligns with Sudan’s strategic vision for humanitarian aid. TSC President emphasized Sudan’s commitment to addressing humanitarian needs without political or media motives, ensuring aid reaches citizens without discrimination.
Rev. William Franklin Graham III, president of Samaritan’s Purse, voiced satisfaction with the visit to Sudan and praised the government’s facilitation of humanitarian aid. He noted the organization’s 30-year presence in Sudan and their services across the country, particularly in the health sector, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
Rev. Franklin also mentioned that the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on humanitarian action. He expressed hope for increased support for Sudan during its current challenges and aimed to convey Sudan’s humanitarian issues to American agencies, advocating for renewed ties between the American administration and the Sudanese government.
