Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, met today with Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Al-Khereiji. The meeting took place in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Muawiya Osman Khalid.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Saudi official conveyed greetings from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. They extended their wishes for lasting peace and security for the Sudanese people.
General Al-Burhan expressed gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their interest and efforts in sustaining peace and stability in Sudan. He emphasized the historical ties and fraternal relations between the two nations.
Additionally, the TSC President expressed appreciation to U.S. President Donald Trump for his attention to the Sudanese issue and his efforts toward ending the conflict and establishing peace.
The discussions covered the peace initiative jointly sponsored by the Saudi Crown Prince and U.S. President Donald Trump. This initiative aims to resolve the Sudanese crisis and restore peace. The current regional situation was also addressed during the meeting.
The meeting further reviewed ongoing arrangements for convening the strategic coordination council between the two countries. This council enjoys the patronage of the leaderships of both nations.
