Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, received a phone call from the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Tom Fletcher. The conversation focused on humanitarian issues and the delivery of aid to El-Fashir.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussion highlighted the challenges in delivering aid to El-Fashir, with an emphasis on avoiding obstacles posed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and other groups. The call underscored the importance of ensuring a swift delivery of humanitarian assistance via routes that support the safe passage of convoys.
Additionally, the United Nations proposed the creation of logistical supply bases around El-Fashir to enhance humanitarian efforts, particularly in the Mellit and Tawila regions. This initiative received approval from the Government of Sudan, marking a step forward in facilitating aid distribution in the affected areas.
