Tokar:Police Lieutenant General Dr. Othman Atta, Director General of the Civil Defense Forces, has laid the foundation stone for a new Civil Defense Department in Tokar locality. The event was attended by military, executive, and civil leaders, aiming to enhance civil protection services and emergency response readiness in the area.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Othman Atta expressed his commitment to completing the department's establishment. He announced plans for a river rescue unit to operate during flood seasons and unveiled a rapid intervention vehicle equipped with the latest technology to bolster local response capabilities.
The new department is part of the Civil Defense Forces' strategy to expand its presence and improve its firefighting, rescue, and rapid intervention capabilities. This development is seen as a significant enhancement to the service infrastructure in Tokar locality, aimed at better handling accidents and disasters.
Major General Ahmed Mohamed Hamidan, Director of the Civil Defense Forces in the Red Sea State, emphasized the state's readiness to fulfill its duties under various circumstances. He commended the cooperation with Tokar Locality's Executive Director and local leaders, which has strengthened efforts to serve the community.
Professor Hassan Mahmoud Bakheet, Executive Director of Tokar Locality, appreciated the attention and support from the Civil Defense Forces, particularly during flood periods, highlighting their role in protecting lives and property.
