Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has reiterated the state leadership’s resolve to lift the siege on El-Fashir, Kadugli, Babanusa, and Al-Dalang. During his inspection of the Ministry of Interior headquarters and at a media briefing organized by Sudan News Agency (SUNA), Al-Burhan emphasized the ongoing efforts to achieve this goal, expressing hope for imminent success with divine assistance. “Our citizens will enjoy security, stability, and development,” he stated.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Burhan underscored the continuation of the Battle of Dignity, asserting the objective to cleanse the entire country of rebels and mercenaries. He highlighted Khartoum’s historical significance and the sacrifices made by participants in the National Dignity War to reclaim it from rebel forces. Al-Burhan praised the Sudanese police as vital partners in nation-building and securing citizens, and he extended condolences to those who lost their lives in the conflict.
Al-Burhan also acknowledged the efforts of Khartoum State and the Ministry of Interior in ensuring security and restoring essential services like water and electricity. He focused on the ongoing reconstruction efforts in response to damages inflicted by the Dagalo family militia, committing to a continued focus on rebuilding the national capital.
