Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Salah al-Din Adam Tur has instructed the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources to maximize the use of the water reserves at the Roseires Dam to enhance agricultural areas and electricity generation.
According to Sudan News Agency, Tur emphasized the importance of infrastructure development to support the country’s comprehensive renaissance following recent conflicts. His remarks came during a visit to the Roseires Dam, accompanied by the Federal Ministers of Health and Irrigation, the Governor of the Blue Nile, and the Wali of Central Darfur.
Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Daw al-Bait Abdel-Rahman stated that Tur was informed about the ministry’s plans to improve the efficiency of the Roseires Dam. The minister highlighted the dam’s significance as a key water resource in the nation and noted ongoing efforts to secure funding for the operation of the Kenana and Rahad canals. These efforts are aimed at supporting horizontal expan
sion plans in agriculture.
