Port sudan: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Lieutenant General (Engineer) Ibrahim Jabir, stated that the events of April 15 constituted a premeditated coup backed by known external actors. Speaking to diplomatic mission heads and international organizations in Port Sudan, Jabir emphasized that the war was not merely a conflict between two generals, highlighting a unified military command under General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and President of the TSC.
According to Sudan News Agency, Jabir described the events as a full-fledged military coup, supported by conclusive evidence. He noted that an army unit had been strategically prepared and equipped to launch coordinated attacks on military command headquarters across several states. He asserted that the coup aimed to engineer demographic changes in Sudan with regional support, claiming that the facts are evident and indisputable.
Jabir stated that the Sudanese Armed Forces successfully thwarted the coup within hours, securing several of their facilities. He elaborated that the coup attempt involved multiple externally driven conflicts, including a media campaign aimed at exonerating the leaders of the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) through systematic disinformation. This was further complicated by economic warfare, with banks, vehicles, and citizens' properties being looted, and infrastructure being sabotaged.
Jabir accused the rebel RSF militia of committing serious crimes and violations of international law against the Sudanese people. He stressed that the violations inflicted upon the citizens were unprecedented, leaving them to suffer immensely.
