Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir has been acquainted with the efforts and contributions of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to reconstruction, rehabilitation, and provision of services in Khartoum State.
According to Sudan News Agency, this development came during his meeting with the UNDP Resident Representative Mr. Luca Renda. Mr. Renda explained in a press statement that the meeting addressed the situation in Khartoum State and the UNDP’s role in strengthening the return program and projects to Khartoum State. The UNDP is focusing on providing basic services to citizens, such as electricity, water, and health, and contributing to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of service, educational, and health facilities.
Mr. Renda added that the UNDP would exert efforts, in coordination and cooperation with the government, to implement its plans and programs during the coming period.
