Sennar: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar Al-Mubarak, arrived in Sennar State for an inspection visit to assess the security situation and reconstruction efforts in the state. She was welcomed by the State Wali (governor), Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayid, members of his cabinet, and the state security committee at the entrance to Sennar City.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Salma received a detailed briefing during a joint meeting with the state security committee and the state cabinet. The discussions focused on the state government’s efforts to eliminate the rebellion and stabilize the security situation following the state’s purge of the terrorist militia. Dr. Salma was reassured about the state government’s efforts to provide essential services and start the reconstruction of institutions and facilities damaged by the rebel militia.
TSC Member emphasized the state’s commitment to developing productive projects, with a particular focus on agricultural production. During her inspection visit to the fields of the Arab Sudanese Seed Company in Sennar, Dr. Salma checked on the progress of the 2025 summer agricultural season. She listened to a detailed explanation from Dr. Siddig Ahmed Al-Mustafa, Director of the Arab Sudanese Seed Company, about the progress in germination levels of sorghum and groundnut crops and the challenges faced by farmers.
Dr. Salma highlighted the importance of the summer agricultural season for the national economy and food provision. She commended the Arab Sudanese Seed Company and farmers for their efforts to ensure the season’s success. She stated that expanding agriculture and increasing production is an appropriate response to economic targeting aimed at disrupting the country’s resources.
TSC Member noted that the war on Sudan involved multiple forms, with the rebel militia targeting productive projects and agricultural resources. She praised the dedication of the Sudanese people and farmers, emphasizing their role in achieving abundant agricultural production despite the war. Dr. Salma pledged to support the agricultural season in Sennar State and to overcome obstacles that may hinder agricultural operations to enhance self-sufficiency in strategic crops.
The Wali of Sennar State, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayid, expressed his appreciation for Dr. Salma’s visit, highlighting the importance of the agricultural season to the state. He assured that preparations for planting, including financing and fuel provision, were proceeding well, and acknowledged the Arab Sudanese Seed Company’s role in supplying improved seeds for the upcoming season.
