Dongola: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Salma Abd El-Jabar, praised the sacrifices and contributions of Sudanese women across all fields, underscoring their pivotal role in the Battle of Dignity.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Salma made these remarks during the inauguration of the forum for the Chairpersons of the Sudanese Women General Union (SWGU) from across the states. The event, held in Dongola under the slogan ‘We Help in Liberation and Lead Reconstruction’, highlighted women’s leadership and resilience. Dr. Salma expressed her hope for security, stability, and reassurance to prevail throughout the country.
For his part, the Wali (governor) of the Northern State, Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Abdulhamid, emphasized that Sudanese women have embodied the highest values of sacrifice and selflessness in the Battle of Dignity. He affirmed that Sudan, by the grace of Allah and through the efforts of its sons and daughters, has begun moving beyond exceptional circumstances toward recovery and reconstruction. He further reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting the SWGU programs and projects.
Meanwhile, the SWGU Chairperson, Ahlam Mohamed Ibrahim, stated that the forum provides an important platform to address current challenges and enhance women’s roles in the coming stage. She noted that the forum will deliberate on key working papers, including social policies for family cohesion during crises, childhood issues, training needs, and a renewed vision for the Union.
