Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar Al-Mubarak has affirmed that the government attaches special importance to the rights of persons with disabilities. During her meeting with a delegation of national unions and organizations of persons with disabilities on Thursday, Dr. Salma highlighted the government’s dedication to overcoming challenges and creating an environment that enables persons with disabilities to actively participate in all areas of life.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Fatih Douka, Head of the Preparatory Committee for the Sudanese Forum for Persons with Disabilities, stated that he briefed Dr. Salma on the issues and projects concerning this segment of society. Douka noted that Dr. Salma showed a strong understanding and a willingness to support the forum’s initiatives.
Douka further mentioned that the meeting addressed the ongoing arrangements for establishing the forum, which aims to unite all unions and organizations of persons with disabilities to tackle the challenges they encounter.
