TSC Member Dr. Salma Al-Mubarak Affirms Government Support for Africa International University Reconstruction Plan

Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Africa International University, Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar Al-Mubarak, met on Saturday with the Vice-Chancellor of the Africa International University, Professor Hatim Osman Mohamed Khair. The meeting discussed the university’s academic activities and the financial and administrative situation, as well as the matrix of actual requirements following the repercussions of the war and the major attacks the university suffered by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, which led to the systematic vandalization of most of the university’s infrastructure.

According to Sudan News Agency, TSC Member affirmed her serious efforts, through the Reconstruction Committee formed by the Board of Trustees, to work to enhance coordination to mobilize the capabilities of the government, regional organizations, and donor countries to accelerate the university’s reconstruction and rehabilitation. Dr. Salma also expressed her interest in following up on efforts to address the university’s situation, restore its leadership position, and continue its educational journey by spreading awareness and knowledge locally and regionally.

For his part, the Vice-Chancellor of the International University of Africa, Professor Hatem Osman Mohamed Khair, explained, in a press statement, that he had briefed TSC Member on the progress of preparations for the exams scheduled to be held on July 15th at 18 centers inside and outside the country. The University Vice-Chancellor added that he had congratulated Dr. Salma Abdel-Jabbar, on behalf of the university family, on her second term as a TSC member.
