Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Dr. Salma Abdel-Jabbar Al-Mubarak has praised the advanced level of bilateral relations between Sudan and Egypt, especially during the war. She noted the support of Egypt, both government and people, for the Sudanese people during their ordeal, just as Sudan stood with sisterly Egypt, supporting it in several forums.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Salma Abdel-Jabbar added, during her meeting on Sunday with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sudan, Hani Salah, that this war contributed to strengthening national unity and fostering cohesion between the two countries. She described the relations between the two countries as historic and deeply rooted.
TSC member emphasized that the world is awaiting Sudan’s economic and social renaissance, pointing out that the Sudanese people have become more cohesive, aware, and united, enabling them to achieve progress and development in a short time.
The meeting addressed a number of issues of mutual interest between the two countries, particularly social, economic, cultural, and religious ones. It also addressed the challenges facing the Gezira Scheme and the need to revive it, given its importance to Sudan and the Arab world.
The meeting also touched on a number of philosophical and religious topics, including Sufism, the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt, Sufi orders, and civil administrations in Sudan. It also highlighted the importance of promoting community development.
The meeting highlighted the role played by Al-Azhar University in education, the second largest university in the world, and praised its hosting of a large number of Sudanese students.
For his part, Egyptian Ambassador Hani Salah congratulated Dr. Salma on the leadership’s renewed confidence and her reappointment to the Sovereignty Council, wishing her success and prosperity. He affirmed his country’s unlimited support for the Sudanese people, noting that Sudan has previously stood with Egypt on many issues.
Ambassador Hani explained that the TSC member presented her vision for the coming period for the future of Sudan, which will enhance stability and sustainable development.
