Madani: Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council (TSC), Dr. Salma Abdel Gabbar Al-Mubarak, has announced her interest and follow-up on the issues of the University of Gezira. She underlined, while addressing the university professors at An-Nisheishiba Complex in Madani, that the University of Gezira was a pyramid and symbol for all of Sudan, due to its academic representation, scientific research, and competencies that have served society.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Salma Abdel-Gabbar called on universities to adopt awareness and guidance programs to address the effects of war and protect youth. The Wali of Gezira State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, emphasized that universities were a cornerstone and reference for all programs, plans, and decisions of the state government. He affirmed his government’s commitment to addressing all issues of universities in the state, saying that the University of Gezira is a beacon of knowledge.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gezira, Prof. Salah-Eddin Al-Arabi, congratulated the liberation of the state and the victories achieved by the armed forces on all battlefronts. He highlighted the university’s hosting of several higher education institutions and its proposal of several initiatives to achieve peace and resolve the Sudanese crisis, in addition to serving the people of the state. He announced the resumption of studies in all university faculties and participation in the state’s government programs.
