Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Salma Abdel-Jabbar Al-Mubarak, has affirmed her readiness to cooperate with all sectors to support and advocate for women’s issues and assist them in facing current challenges. This came during her meeting on Monday with the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Social Peace, Alia Abuna, and the Secretary of Women in the Center Track, Manal Al-Hakim.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting touched on women’s issues, the repercussions of the war, and its impact on Sudanese women. The meeting commended the pioneering role women have continued to play, their support for the armed forces, and their advocacy for national issues, in addition to their contribution to fostering stability and addressing the psychological and material effects of the war.
For her part, the Secretary-General of the Council for Social Peace, Alia Abuna, explained, in a press statement, that the meeting discussed the possibility of unifying the efforts of Sudanese women and restoring their status through effective participation in various aspects of life.
On behalf of the women’s sector, Alia Abuna expressed her appreciation and gratitude to TSC Member Dr. Salma Abdul Jabbar Al Mubarak for her profound understanding of women’s issues, drawing on her rich experience in women’s activism. She noted that arrangements are underway to organize women’s programs and events in the coming period to consolidate women’s efforts and unite their national ranks to confront the challenges facing the country.
