Atbara: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohamed Tahir, affirmed the State’s commitment to supporting student creativity, stressing that youth are the true guardians of the nation. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Dignity Student Festival in Atbara, she noted that students reflect Sudan’s cultural diversity and contribute to national development as well as reconstruction efforts.
According to Sudan News Agency, the festival was also addressed by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Mudawi, and Wali (governor) of River Nile State, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Majid Al-Badawi, who praised the role of the National Fund for Student Welfare in promoting cultural and creative activities and unleashing the talents of youth in various fields of creativity.
Six states took part in the festival: Blue Nile, Gedaref, Kassala, Red Sea, River Nile, and Northern State. The Dignity Student Festival was organized by the National Fund for Student Welfare under the theme ‘Reviving the Conscience to Build Sudan’, and was held at Sorour Al-Saflawi Girls’ Dormitory in Atbara, River Nile State. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes and trophies to the winners in modern and folk singing, heritage, choral performance, sculpture, poetry, and other activities.
