Khartoum: The Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority (TPRA) issued a clarification statement today regarding media reports about the entry of a Qatari telecom company into the Sudanese market. The statement clarified that the reports suggesting the addition of a fourth telecom company, alongside existing entities Zain, Sudani, and MTN, are incorrect and not based on any official information.
According to Sudan News Agency, the TPRA emphasized its dedication to regulating and developing the telecommunications sector in Sudan through collaboration with all companies operating in this field. The authority urged the public to exercise caution and refrain from being influenced by rumors that could potentially harm the telecommunications sector’s interests.
The TPRA also reiterated its commitment to addressing any inquiries or requests for clarification from the public, reinforcing its role in maintaining transparency and trust within the industry.
