Khartoum: The Special Terrorism Court for the Killing of the Former West Darfur State Governor, Khamis Abdullah Abkar, continues its sessions on Monday, led by Judge Al-Mamoun Al-Khawad. This session will focus on hearing testimonies from the investigator and the complainant as the court progresses with the case.
According to Sudan News Agency, the court’s first session on Sunday involved the presentation of the indictment by the Attorney General of the Republic of Sudan, Al-Fatih Mohamed Issa Tayfour. The court is dealing with charges under various articles of the Sudanese Penal Code and Anti-Terrorism and Cybercrime Laws. These include charges of criminal complicity, agreement, incitement, assistance, undermining the constitutional system, incitement to war against the state, rebellion, and assault on the dead, which encompasses mutilation of corpses. These charges fall under the 1991 Penal Code, amended in 2020, alongside specific articles from the Anti-Terrorism and Cybercrime Laws.
The indictment names 16 defendants, including prominent figures such as Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo Musa, Abdel-Rahim Hamdan Dagalo Musa, and Al-Goni Hamdan Dagalo Musa, among others. The court proceedings continue to draw significant attention as they unfold.
