Khartoum: Commander Mustafa Tambour took oath Sunday as the Wali (governor) of Central Darfur State before President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan. The oath-taking ceremony was held in the presence of the Governor of Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minnawi, TSC Secretary-General, Lt. Gen. Dr. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Yousif, and the representative of the Chief Justice Abdel-Moneim Ismail, Head of Red Sea State’s Judiciary.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Wali of Central Darfur State expressed his gratitude to TSC President for the confidence placed in him to assume this position amid the challenges facing the country. Tambour highlighted the conspiracies hatched against Sudan by regional and international circles, along with some traitors and agents, aimed at dismantling its national unity and exploiting its resources.
Tambour stated, “We must undergo this responsibility to preserve Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and stability.”
He acknowledged the difficult conditions in Central Darfur and praised the sacrifices of citizens who have endured violations by militias executing plans to divide Sudan.
He affirmed his support for the Armed Forces in reclaiming Central Darfur and ensuring the return of displaced people to their homes. He emphasized the government’s commitment to rebuilding what was destroyed by the militias and promoting social reconciliation among communities, leveraging the energy of youth for peace and development.
The Wali paid tribute to the martyrs and the Armed Forces for defending the nation’s sovereignty and dignity. He also congratulated the Sudanese people on the victories achieved by the Armed Forces in eliminating the terrorist militia.
