Damascus: Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Raghda Zidan, met on Monday with a Turkish delegation, including Dr. Guven Sak of TEPAV and Ahmet Ekerolu of TOBB-BIS, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in social and labor fields.
According to Syrian Arab News Agency, the discussions centered around training and employment programs, with particular emphasis on the potential creation of a joint industrial city. This initiative aims to generate new jobs and reduce unemployment, while also leveraging Turkish expertise to enhance Syria’s labor market and workforce skills.
The meeting is a continuation of previous dialogues between Syrian and Turkish officials. Notably, on October 16, Syrian Minister Hind Qubawat met with her Turkish counterpart at the 6th Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers. Their conversations addressed labor cooperation and the return of Syrian refugees, laying the groundwork for the current discussions on the joint industrial city project.
