Cairo: Sudan’s Ambassador to Cairo, Imad El-Din Adawi, has disclosed the embassy’s ongoing efforts in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Interior to facilitate the process of granting entry and exit visas to Sudanese nationals residing in Egypt. He mentioned that the ministry has started issuing visas to individuals holding tourist residency permits.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting held on Wednesday with opinion leaders and editors-in-chief at the new embassy building in the Fifth Settlement, Ambassador Adawi highlighted the growing trade exchange between Sudan and Egypt. He emphasized the potential for further developing economic relations between the two neighboring countries.
The ambassador also announced plans to establish an advisory council comprising elites from various sectors. This initiative will include organizing a media forum, followed by forums specifically for youth and women, aiming to broaden the engagement with diverse community groups.
Ambassador Adawi detailed the embassy’s activities from May 2024 to May 31, 2025, noting that they have completed over 909,000 transactions across consular, passport, civil registry, cultural, and medical domains. He underscored the embassy’s strategic objectives, focusing on enhancing its vision and mission, alongside the improvements in its physical presence and operations.
Furthermore, the ambassador remarked that the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo is a leading mission for Sudan in terms of developing and managing multilateral relations and safeguarding the interests of Sudanese citizens in Egypt.
