Dublin: The Sudanese Embassy in Dublin is operating with its full diplomatic and administrative staff, as stated by the Foreign Ministry. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a statement on Wednesday, refuting claims from certain media outlets about diplomats at the Sudanese Embassy seeking asylum in Ireland.
According to Sudan News Agency, the ministry emphasized that these allegations are unfounded. The statement confirmed the commitment of all members of the mission to their official duties, highlighting that the Embassy is functioning in line with diplomatic protocols. The ministry also clarified that the diplomats mentioned in the reports, Ambassador Adil Youssef Banaga and Ambassador Omar Ork Eldin, have completed their service after reaching retirement age, in 2023 and 2022 respectively.
Furthermore, the statement addressed Counselor Mohamed Musa El-Bashir’s status, noting that the former acting Charg© d’Affaires has finished his term at the embassy. He is set to return to his duties within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Sudan.
The embassy urged media outlets to verify information before publication, cautioning against spreading falsehoods and rumors that may serve questionable purposes.
