Khartoum: A delegation from the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation, led by Al-Sheikh Mustafa Al-Sheikh Al-Amin, the Federation’s Treasurer, engaged in a significant meeting with Dr. Ibrahim Deraij, the General Commercial Registrar. The central topic of the discussion was the revision of the company registration system.
According to Sudan News Agency, the General Commercial Registrar explained that the primary goal of the revision is to eliminate fictitious companies and ensure that only those with genuine commercial and economic activities are listed. This move is aimed at enhancing the integrity of the business registration process in Sudan.
To facilitate these changes, the Commercial Registrar highlighted that companies are required to submit Form 7, which should include the names of the company’s chairman, board members, and founders. The process has been simplified to allow submissions through various channels, such as the Registrar’s window, electronic filing, or via the offices of the Sudanese Businessmen’s Federation. This flexibility is expected to streamline the registration process and make it more accessible to businesses.
In light of the wartime circumstances, the Commercial Registrar announced a special concession: companies that have not renewed their registrations for the post-war years will receive an exemption from registration renewal fees. This measure is intended to relieve financial burdens on businesses recovering from the impacts of war.
Additionally, the delegation from the Federation was assured of its role in the networking system between government institutions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration. The meeting underscored the necessity of linking company registration with a membership certificate from the Sudanese Businessmen Federation, further integrating the Federation into the national economic framework.
