Bern: The Sudanese community in Switzerland, in coordination with the Sudan Permanent Mission to the United Nations, organized a grand celebratory evening yesterday in the Swiss capital, Bern, in honor of the visit of Sultan Saad Bahr-Eddin, Sultan of Dar Masalit, and his accompanying delegation. The event was attended by a large gathering of community members, leaders, and their families.
According to Sudan News Agency, the gathering was addressed by Nabil Abdulwahab, representing the community, who welcomed the Sultan and his delegation. This was followed by remarks from Permanent Representative Ambassador Hassan Hamid, who formally introduced Sultan Saad Bahr-Eddin, Sultan of Dar Masalit. The event also featured a speech by Dr. Suleima Izhag, State Minister at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare.
The celebration included an extended direct dialogue between the delegation and community members, lasting into the late hours, discussing the consequences of the existential war imposed on Sudan, the atrocities and challenges of the post-war period, and the responsibilities of Sudanese citizens living abroad.
